You may have already been asked this, but when it comes to you doing hand-lettering, do you directly look at other type while you draw? Basically do you try to stylize existing typefaces, or create something unique? I’m a big fan of your work btw.

Answer: A little bit of both. There are times I need to reference specific styles for certain projects, but for the most part, I’ve done so much research and obsessed over so much ephemera that I can basically pull stylistic ideas straight out of the old grey matter.
